· First tell us a little about your self…
My name is Becky Koons. I have been in the MX Industry since 1985. I am originally from Ohio and have worked several tracks in Ohio. I moved to Texas in 1999 to work for a company called Pace Motor sports, I was the Arenacross Office Manager since 2004 to present I am the Data Entry and office manager for the BooKoo Arenacross Series.
· How did you get involved in Motocross?
I used to do registration and scoring for a friend of mine in Ohio who eventually got bought out by Pace Motor sports.
· Were the first track you worked at?
A track in Ohio called Action Sports.
· Did you ever race?
No Just play ride.
· Now since the BooKoo Arenacross is over what are you doing now?
I am working on Spring and Summer Promotions. I have already done two major ones. Oak Hill GNC and the Hangtime LL Qualifier in Akron Indiana. I will also be at Ponca City and Loretta Lynn's.
· What’s going to be new to the BooKoo Arenacross this year?
Not for sure I think we may have more venues 14 instead of 12 and of course our goal is to up the contingency. This year we were right at 3.5 million in contingency.
· What’s the biggest race you have been too?
Of course Amateur I would have to say Loretta Lynn's and Pro’s US Open in Vegas.
· Are there any other forms of racing you would like to try and why?
I think super moto would be interesting and also I love pitbikes just because I like to play ride and because Erin Normoyle is riding this weekend in the pit bike race this weekend in Vegas. She is Ms. BooKoo Arenacross.
· What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to work out and I love to go Tanning and hang out with my friends.
· Do you play any Motocross games?
No not really. We do have an Arenacross game though !!
· If there’s one thing in Motocross you would like to change what would it be and why?
Free entries for all the riders. I know how expensive this sport is and I wish that we could do this for everyone. Being in the industry I have been on both sides of the fence as a promoter and a spectator.
· Is there any advice you would like to give out to any racers or promoters?
To a racer I would like to say give it your best shot and remember to have fun at a sport u live, love, and breath. As a promoter I would have to say I give 100 percent attention to each rider. Whether it be to stop and say hello, complain or just a grip session. I try and work with everyone and if you have questions send me an email or call me. Our website is www.racearenacross.com.
· In closing is there anyone you would like to Thank?
